Blogger Recognition Award

Hello Rainy Readers,

So, a looong time ago, The amazing Mademoiselle O’Lantern nominated me for the Blogger Recognition Award! Her blog is absolutely adorable, so you should definitely check her out. She posts about makeup, fashion, and lifestyle mostly, and she does her makeup fantastically!

Here are the Rules:

Thank the Blogger who nominated you, and leave a link to their blog.

Write a Post to show your award.

Give a brief story about how your blog started.

Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.

Select 15 other bloggers to nominate for the award, and comment on their blog telling them (make sure to leave a link).

How my Blog Started:

In the beginning of 2017, I knew that I wanted to share my writing to the world. I was about to be too old for a magazine that I had gotten my short stories published in a few times, and I wanted to make a name for myself. I didn’t quite know how to start a blog, but I had heard some good things about WordPress, and the idea of having a blog really excited me at the time. I quickly got to work designing my site, and finally, writing my first post.

Since that time, I have learned so much from the blogging world, and I am so glad that I joined. Wow, this actually sounds like an advertisement. This is not sponsored, I promise haha.

My Advice to new Bloggers:

My blog is still semi fresh, so forgive me if this advice is not the best, but here goes.

  1. Write for yourself. Don’t write a post just because you think that your readers might like it, write a post because it touches you in some way, and you enjoy writing it. If you are loving what you write, then your readers will probably love it too (hopefully (: ).
  2. Write posts in advance. I must admit, I still haven’t mastered this one, but if you write your posts in advance, rather than right on the day that you’re supposed to publish them, then it will make your life SO MUCH easier.

Now, for the Nominees:

We Painted The Clouds Gray

Esther

Maggie

Cozy Little Mimi

Yellow’s The Word

Thoughts In Life

Chasing Sakina

A Whisper of Ink

Aqsa

One Online Girl

My Valiant Soul

I’m going to leave this at fourteen, because nominating is exhausting! Each and every one of these nominees have a wonderful, unique blog, and they all  completely deserve this award.

Mademoiselle O’lantern, Thank You so much for nominating me! It’s such an honor :).

I hope that everyone enjoyed!

XOXO, Rainy Day Writings :).

  2. Thank you so much for nominating me Stella 😘

    I’ll get right to it.

The tip about writing posts down, I’ve found it to be very important. On rainy days when I don’t want to write, I could just check my drafts and publish something. But then, I’ve not really mastered it. Most if the writes in the drafts haven’t been constructed well, but having something down at least, I’ve found, helps.

    Thanks again Stell 😀

  3. Congrats! I agree with your advice, many blogs with high followings do their posts for their readers, then lose sight of why they are blogging (if they aren’t passionate about what they post) It’s all about pouring yourself into your writing and blog, then people with come to read it.

    1. Thank you! You’re completely right. Even though I don’t have THAT high of following, many days I find myself forgetting to write what I love; blogging should not be a chore! Thanks for these thoughtful comments :). Xx, Stell :).
